Drug peddlers, including Indian nationals, held in Saptari

RAJBIRAJ: A joint team deployed from Sagarmatha Zonal Police Office, Rajbiraj and District Police Office (DPO), Saptari nabbed four persons in possession of controlled drugs, from Rajbiraj-5 on Sunday.

Among the suspects identified were Indian nationals Sonu Kumar Pradhan (21), Rajesh Kumar Mahato (32), and Rajesh Mahato (35) from Supaul district of Bihar.

Pramod Kumar Sah (27) from Sakarpura VDC-5, Saptari was also arrested, police said.

According to police, the suspects were travelling on two motorcycles when they were frisked on a suspicion. They tried to escape the scene leaving the two-wheelers behind, though the police got hold of them, the DPO informed.

Police further informed that they found 200 ampoules of Diazepam, 100 ampoules of Lupigesic, 200 ampoules of Phenergan and 100 ampoules of Buprenorphine from them.

The two motorcycles they used – one each registered in Nepal and India – have been impounded, DSP Narayan Prasad Chimariya said.
