FA to announce struggle plan today
Kathmandu, April 19
The Federal Alliance of Madhesi and Indigenous Nationalities forces today discussed the next phase of their movement as they prepared to announce a nationwide pressure-oriented programme tomorrow.
During the meeting held here today, the leaders suggested nationwide struggle to create pressure on the government to fulfil the demands of the Madhesi and Janajati people.
Kumar Lingden of Federal Limbuwan Party said they wanted to spread the message throughout the world that the new constitution was not acceptable to a large section of Nepali society.
He said the previous agitations were dispersed and had less impact and therefore they had formed the Federal Alliance to ensure a nationwide concerted movement.
Those included in the FA were Nepa Rastriya Party, Federal Limbuwan Party, Tharuhat Tarai Party, Sanghiye Janamukti Party, Social Democratic Party, Limbuwan Struggle Committee, Tamuwan Struggle Committee, and Tamsaling Struggle Committee, among others.
Lingden said the Padma Ratna Tuladhar-led Indigenous Nationalities National Movement also supported the FA movements.
Leader of Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party Ram Naresh Raya said a meeting of the top leadership of the parties in the FA would hold a discussion tomorrow and announce the first phase of the national movement and finalise its secretariat, office setting and its spokesperson.
Manis Suman of Sadbhawana Party said the first phase of the agitation would focus on all 75 district headquarters and the next phase would be a Kathmandu-centred movement.
All the programmes will be organised simultaneously throughout the country, Suman said.
