Family receives Raut’s body

Bajura, June 21

Family members received the body of CPN-UML cadre Hansha Bahadur Raut who was killed in a clash between the CPN-UML and Nepali Congress activists, on Sunday.

Raut died in a clash during nomination filing for phase II civic polls at Dogadi in Chhededaha Rural Municipality, Bajura.

After agreement with the local administration, family members received the body from District Health Office Bajura. The body was cremated after post-mortem today.

According to DAO, the agreement includes investigation of the incident, punishment for the guilty and compensation for the victim’s family, among others.

UML leader Kashi BK said the agreement was reached after a discussion among representatives of the NC, UML and DAO.

Meanwhile, police have filed an FIR against ten persons for their alleged involvement in the murder of Raut. Of the ten, police have held just one, while nine others are still at large.
