Far-west DIGs, Kailali CDO recalled
Kathmandu, August 25
The Ministry of Home Affairs today recalled DIG Ram Kumar Khanal to Nepal Police Headquarters and replaced him with DIG Madhav Prasad Nepal as the chief of Far-western Regional Police Office, which oversees the security of all districts in the region, including Kailali.
MoHA has also recalled Armed Police Force DIG Khadanand Chaudhary, chief of Far-western Regional APF, to APF Headquarters and replaced him with APF DIG Suraj Shrestha.
The move comes after the alleged failure of the regional security chiefs to maintain law and order and quell violence during yesterday’s protest in Tikapur, said a MoHA source.
SSP Dinesh Amatya has been deputed as the chief of Seti Zonal Police Office in place of SSP Laxman Neupane, who was killed by armed protesters. DIG Nepal, APF DIG Shrestha and SSP Amatya assumed their new office today itself.
As per MoHA decision, Kailali Chief District Officer Raj Kumar Shrestha has also been recalled to Kathmandu, replacing him with Mohan Chapagain.
MoHA source said the government would initiate action against the security officials and chief district officer if they are found guilty of negligence while ensuring peace and security.
