Federal commission on boundaries unconstitutional, unacceptable: Upendra Yadav

BIRGUNJ: Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav on Sunday dismissed the three major parties' decision to form federal commission to deal with the issues related to the boundaries of federal units as unconstitutional.

He made it clear that his party would not accept the decision on demarcation of new provinces made by such a body that itself is unconstitutional. He was speaking at a press conference here in Birgunj today.

Leader Yadav held the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist responsible for the ongoing agitation in Madhesh and crisis in the country.

In order to fulfil their vested interests, he said, some leaders of the three parties are trying to impose constitution by killing the essence of Constituent Assembly.

He was of the opinion that the government reflected its suppressive intents by mobilising Nepal Army and Armed Police Force instead of finding out a political solution of the issues in Madhesh.

Comparing the government leadership with the oligarchic Ranas and the Shah kings, quipped sarcastically said they (ruling parties and leaders) also would witness the similar fate of falling down.

Responding to a query, he said that his party would struggle in both the fronts -- the Constituent Assembly as well as the street, and there was no question of leaving the CA.

According to him, he did not know whether the Rajendra Mahato-led Sadbhawana Party quit the CA but the CA chairman told him that no lawmaker has resigned.
