Five die in separate road accidents

Nawalparasi, November 17

At least five persons died in road accidents in different parts of the country yesterday night.

Two persons died after a motorcycle turned turtle due to overspeeding at Sangam Chowk of Kawasoti Municipality in Nawalparasi yesterday. Pillion rider-Sarala Gurung, 14, of the municipality died on the spot, said Area Police Office, Kawasoti.

Critically injured bikerider Ajaya Tamang of the municipality was immediately rushed to Kaligandaki Hospital. Tamang, however, was hit by a jeep and killed on the spot when he ran out from the hospital as he did not want to live any more, said police.

The bodies have been kept in Kaligandaki Hospital for postmortem.

Similarly, a man and his son were killed and another person was critically injured after the motorcycle they were travelling on collided with a tractor at Bangesimal of Birendranagar Municipality in Surkhet yesterday.

The deceased have been identified as bike rider Ramesh BK, 28, and his son-Sandip, 3, of the municipality.

The duo died while being treated at mid-west Regional Hospital, Kalagaun of Surkhet. According to District Traffic Police Office, Surkhet, critically injured Amrit Sunar of Bansi VDC, Dailekh, is receiving treatment at the same hospital.

The tractor driver fled from the scene after the accident. In another accident, pedestrian Narayan Singh Nidingbu, 25, of Taplejung was killed after a bus hit him at Patharisanischare Municipality in Morang yesterday.

critically injured Nidingbu died while being treated at Neuro Hospital, Biratnagar.
