SANKHUWASABHA: As many as nine suspension bridges and two powerhouses were damaged by flash floods occurred in the Hewa River.

The powerhouse of Barun Hydro Power Project and Nigure Hydropower Project were damaged in the floods.

Similarly, the floods also damaged about 1,000 ropanis of farmland, depositing silt and debris.

Likewise, two houses at Chainpur Municipality and Dobhane-3 were swept away while other 9 houses were at a high risk of being swept away.

The river was blocked after a portion of the cliff of Kuluwa Gairibhir and Nagi Region fell into the river, DSP Kamal Thapa informed.

Similarly, the flood has swept away several irrigation canals in the area.
