POKHARA: A local has sustained injuries after being stabbed by a foreign national at Lakeside of Pokhara in Kaski district.

Ider Dominic (34) of Austria, on Monday night, stabbed Shiva Shrestha (35), injuring him.

Shrestha is currently receiving treatment at Charak Hospital in Naya Bazaar, Pokhara. He was injured in the abdomen and had to undergo surgery.

Dominic was arrested from a Lakeside-based hotel early Tuesday morning, said Deputy Superintendent of Police at Baidam-based ward police office, Naveen Karki.

The Austrian national, in his statement to police, stated that he stabbed Shrestha after Shrestha punched him following a money-related argument. He further told police that he and Shrestha were acquainted and had friendly relations prior to this.

It has been learnt that Shrestha ran a tourist hostel in Khahare at Lakeside area.

Meanwhile, DSP Karki informed that further investigation into the case had begun.
