A girl of Dhading has landed in soup for trying to implicate a man in a fake rape case.

District court of Dhading yesterday handed down three months in prison and a fine of Rs 2,000 to Shanti Thapa Magar of Mapark VDC-7 after the testimony she presented to the court regarding her ‘rape’ was proved fake.

She was sent to prison yesterday itself.

Shanti, on December 19 last year, had filed a case with the district court claiming that Binod Layo Magar, aka Sangam, 21, of Salyankot village had attempted to rape her.

Following the girl’s FIR, police had arrested Binod and handed him over to the court.

Binod was then remanded to custody on January 4 by the district court.

Following the confirmation of the fabricated testimony intent on implicating an innocent person, the court has acquitted Binod of the charge and sent the girl to jail.
