Govt will adopt stern measures to curb violence against women: CM Bhatta

DHANGADHI: Province 7 Chief Minister Trilochan Bhatta on Saturday has said that the provincial government would adopt stern measures to curb the violence against women.

Speaking at a programme organised in Patan Municipality of Baitadi district, CM Bhatta said that multiple cases of violence against women have been surfacing in the province in the name of rituals, the cause of which is lack of social awareness.

"Our provincial government is committed to curb such activities by adopting strictness in the execution of law," said CM Bhatta.

On a different note, CM Bhatta remarked that it was also the duty of government staffers to strengthen the base of federal system. "Government will award and punish the staffers on the basis of their service towards local people," added Bhatta who was in Baitadi for the first time since being elected the Chief Minister.
