KATHMANDU: A Cabinet meeting on Tuesday decided not to register and renew transport committees to end rampant transport syndicate across the country, Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology Gokul Baskota informed.

The Cabinet meeting was held at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar this evening and took the decision to this effect.

Talking to THT Online over the phone, Minister Baskota said, "As of now, the transport entrepreneurs are registering their vehicles and committees at the District Administration Office. The government has decided not to accept further registration from the DAO."

With this decision, the transport committees registered at the DAO would be automatically terminated, said Baskota.
