Govt forms 4-member panel to probe Durga Tiwari murder

KATHMANDU: The government on Tuesday formed a four-member panel to look into the murder of CPN-UML-aligned Youth Association Nepal leader Durga Tiwari in Rupandehi yesterday.

AIG Bigyan Raj Sharma heads the committee.

The committee has been asked to investigate into the case and submit its report within 15 days to the Ministry of Home Affairs, according to the MoHA spokesperson Bal Krishna Panthi.

Meanwhile, the Ministry said police personnel were searching for the persons involved in the attack.

The search has been centred in the Nepal-India border areas, according to Panthi.

Chairman of the CPN-UML-aligned Youth Association Nepal’s Rupandehi chapter, Tiwari, was shot dead by an unidentified group of people at Devdaha Municipality-8 of Rupandehi, on Monday.

While it is said that two persons riding on a red Pulsar motorbike opened fire on him, police are still clueless about the murderers.
