Govt health insurance popular

The number of people buying government health insurance policy has increased in Makawanpur of late.

District Public Health Office, Makawanpur, said many people had shown interest in getting health insurance policy.

“More than 30,000 denizens bought the health insurance policy at a programme that began in the last week of June,” said Public Health Supervisor Bhola Chaulagain. According to Chaulagain, many of them have even started coming to Hetauda Hospital for health services.

Clients who have bought government health insurance policy can get health services from Hetauda Hospital, Bhimphedi, Palung, Manahari and Chhatiwan health centres, according to District Public Health Office.

The government launched the policy in some districts a few months back. As per the policy, a five-member family is supposed to pay a total of Rs 2,500 a year to be eligible for the service.
