‘Govt spreading rumours’

Biratnagar, January 18

Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal  a constituent of United Democratic Madhesi Front  Chairman Upendra Yadav today accused the government of disseminating rumours about talks.

Further, Yadav stated that several rounds of talks held between the UDMF and the government had been meaningless.

Talking to mediapersons in Biratnagar, Yadav held that the core of their demand was demarcation of provinces and unless the demarcation issue was settled, their agitation would not come to a halt. He warned that the front would launch a Singha Durbar-centred agitation soon.

“We will bring people from mountains, hills and Tarai in Kathmandu for the Singha Durbar-centred agitation,” Yadav said.

“If the picketing of Singha Durbar too does not work, agitators will carry every brick from Singha Durbar,” Yadav warned.

Stating that the ongoing Tarai agitation was normal, Yadav warned that delay in offering solution to it would tear apart communal harmony and plunge the country into regional and ethnic conflict.

“If the state wants peace and stability, it has to rectify its mistakes in the statute and demarcate the provincial boundaries appropriately,” Yadav added.
