Headless DDC affects development works in Tanahun

DAMAULI: The District Development Committee (DDC) in Tanahun, without the Local Development Officer (LDO) for last two months, has obstructed most of the development works in Tanahun district, of late.

After transfer of the then LDO Bandhu Prasad Bastola to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development on July 28, the top post at the DDC has been vacant.

It is learned that various works and decisions related to development have been halted due to the absence of LDO for a long time.

Chief of the District Technical Office, Narayan Prasad Baral, is given responsibilities of the LDO. He, however, does not have any right to take any decision on financial issues.

The DDC staff claimed that Baral is doing all the works except financial ones.

The delay to bring a new officer on time on the part of government has halted all development works in the district, claimed local people.
