Hetauda to be fully immunised

Mayor Hari Bahadur Mahat of Hetauda sub-metropolitan city administered vitamin A and deworming tablets to children as per the national immunisation programme in Makawanpur, today.

The city is preparing to declare the sub-metropolis fully immunised zone within this fiscal.

The mayor visited two centres of the town to monitor the programme and directed health workers to make it highly effective. He fed vitamin and deworming tablet to each and every child of wards 4 and 5 of Hetauda sub-metropolis.

Out of 19 wards of the sub-metropolis, 10 wards are yet to be declared fully immunised zone. “If the remaining wards are found to meet the criteria during monitoring by District Public Health Office, Makawanpur, the sub-metropolis will be declared fully immunised,” said Surendra Karki, an official at the Health Department of the sub-metropolis.

There are a total of 12,393 children below the age of five in Hetauda. A large number of volunteers, mother groups and health workers have been deployed to administer vitamin A and deworming tablets from 92 immunisation centers across the sub-metropolis.
