Damauli, August 7

The Department of Drugs under the Ministry of Health has directed the administration to scrap the licence of five medical stores, and permanently shut down five other medical stores in Tanahun.

The department had monitored medical stores run in the district a fortnight ago, and found these stores operating illegally.

According to Chief District Officer Deepak Subedi, Akriti Medical Hall of Bandipur- 6, Sahara Pharma and Purkot Medical Hall of Satrasaya, Sp Agro-vet of Anbukhaireni- 3, and Chhimkeshwori General Hospital of Anbukhaireni- 6 were directed to be closed down.

Similarly, the monitoring team has directed the cancellation of licences of Kishma Medico Pharma of Byas-10, Sital Ayurved Pharma and Ashru Medical Hall of Byas-2, among other medical stores.

The team had found the medical stores operating without licence, fleecing service seekers, and selling date-expired drugs during the monitoring.
