Indefinite bandh throws life out of gear in Janakpur

JANAKPUR: An indefinite bandh called by the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) has crippled normal life in Janakpur.

The bandh was called to protest against the arrival of Nepali Congress (NC) leader and lawmaker of Dhanusa constituency no. 3 Bimalendra Nidhi in his home town on Wednesday.

Educational institutions, markets and shops pulled down their shutters from early morning in Janakpur, while vehicles stayed off the roads.

The cadres of the Front have been staging demonstrations by burning tyres in various places of Janakpur since this morning.

It has been learned that the cadres and leaders of UDMF clashed with police personnel at Shyam Chowk and Sukrabari Bazaar.
