Indefinite curfew in Gaur from 12 pm

RAUTAHAT: The District Administration Office, Rautahat on Sunday decided to clamp an indefinite curfew in Gaur of Rautahat.

The curfew will come into effect in the district headquarters from the noon and continue until further notice, according the CDO informed.

Issuing a joint statement on September 8, the United Democratic Madhesi Front and the National Muslim Struggle Committee had announced to organise a gathering at the Gaur Rice Mills and to breach the prohibitory zone today.

According to Chief District Officer, Madan Bhujel, the CDO decided to clamp the indefinite curfew after thousands of people wielding lethal weapons entered Gaur to take part in the gathering

The curfew will be imposed from customs office in South, Barahawa River in North-East, Gadhawa Bridge in West-North to Tikuliya in West, the CDO informed.

A large number of security personnel have been deployed to curb untoward incidents.

Meanwhile, cadres of the United Democratic Madhesi Front have been stating demonstration by burning tyres in front of the Nepal Lodge since this morning.
