Initiative to open Korala transit in Mustang

MUSTANG: Initiative has been made to open the Korala transit point in Mustang, that has remained closed for the past many years.

The CA members and stakeholders in the district have been working to resume the border transit that is believed to be instrumental in terms of trade between Nepal and neighbouring China.

Considering the possibility, the Nechung Customs Office in Chosera has also come into operation last month.

Discussion has been held with higher authorities including the Foreign Minister to resume the transit point, Constituent Assembly member of Mustang Romi Gauchan Thakali informed.

This is very important for Nepal’s development and also could serve as an alternative to Tatopani customs, he said.

Chief District Officer of Mustang Narahari Baral also said that efforts have been made to resume the transit point, which is important for trade as well as from the religious point of view.
