After initial hiccups, the 14 km Jorsal-Tamor stretch of Puspalal highway is finally set to be blacktopped as the concerned construction company has begun work with the target of completing the project by the end of the current fiscal.

“As the monsoon is approaching, we’re committed to blacktopping the road by the end of this fiscal,” said Tej Kumar Kurumbang, managing director of Yakthunghang Construction Service Pvt Ltd.

The company had struck a deal with the government three years ago to upgrade and blacktop the mid-hilly highway stretch.
