TAPLEJUNG: The Taplejung-Panchthar road section of the Mechi Highway was disrupted due to the landslips in different areas after the downpour in the region last night.

The vehicular movement was obstructed due to a landslide near Khoksekhola of Taplejung Municipality-8 in Taplejung district. Dozens of other landslips have also occurred along the Taplejung-Kabeli road section, disrupting the traffic.

Supervisor of the Road Division Office, Ilam, Nabin Upreti said that nearly 30 metres road was covered with the landslide near Khokeskhola. Upreti said that clearance of the landslips is unlikely as it is still taking place.

Similarly, the roads to rural areas in the district were also obstructed due to the landslides in different areas including Sinam, Ambegudin and Phurumbol among others.
