Left alliance to head country towards economic development: CPN-MC Chair Dahal

CHITWAN: CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that the left alliance would carry out works as per the sentiments and aspirations of the federal democratic republic constitution.

At a programme organised by Chitwan chapter of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) here today to congratulate newly elected members to the House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies, Chairman Dahal said that the left alliance would not go beyond the provision mentioned in the Constitution.

The former prime minister Dahal further said that the left alliance was formed making political stability, economic development and prosperity in the country as the main agenda which the voters approved with a big mandate.

The CPN-MC Chair said the left government would provide political stability as well as head the country towards the new journey of economic development and prosperity as per the people's aspiration.

Saying, the mandate given by the voters to the left alliance in the elections is the big responsibility to the left alliance leaders, the former Prime Minister Dahal said that the left alliance would fulfill the responsibility seriously.

He said, "The world has seen the left alliance and its victory in the election with attention. The entire international community including neighbours has also paid serious attention to it. So we have taken it seriously."

Dahal said that the commitments made before the people during elections would be fulfilled.

He said he was aware of the journalists' wish of establishing Mass Communication Foundation in Chitwan, adding he would take initiatives from the side of left alliance and government for the same. Dahal was elected as the member to the House of Representatives from Chitwan Constituency No.3.

Dahal expressed his excitement that he felt like he contested the elections for the first time despite contesting from Rolpa, Kathmandu and Siraha before. He said, "This time I tried to sense the needs and aspirations of the people in Chitwan getting closer to them. I experienced both sweeter and bitter experience during the election."

Likewise, CPN-UML politburo member Surendra Pandey — elected as the House of Representatives member from Chitwan Constituency No.1 — said that development was difficult, but not impossible. "Development will take a momentum if there is hardworking people and honest government with determination", he added.

On the occasion, newly elected HoR member from Chitwan-2, Krishna Bhakta Pokharel, Central Senior Vice-President of Nepal Press Union, Deepak Acharya, President of Chitwan chapter FNJ, Radhe Shyam Khatiwada and Vice-President Shanta Adhikari, among others also expressed their views.
