KATHMANDU: National Seismological Centre recorded two light tremors with their epicentres in Nuwakot and Gorkha, on Tuesday.

The one recorded at 5:00 pm in Nuwakot (coordinates 27.87 °N, 85.29 °E) was of local magnitude 4.0 and the other at 6:09 pm in Gorkha (coordinates 28.15 °N, 84.81 °E) of 4.4.

Both the tremors have been listed as the aftershocks of devastating April 25 earthquake of local magnitude 7.6.

The NSC had recorded two significant aftershocks, one of the local magnitude 4.0 and the other of 5.3, on November 19, with their epicentres in Sindhupalchok district.

The NSC records show that 413 aftershocks (of local magnitude 4.0 or above) followed the April 25 earthquake.
