Elections won't stop, decision on threshold soon: Nayak

KATHMANDU: Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Ajaya Shankar Nayak said discussions are being held to address the concerns of fringe parties though the three major parties have already made an agreement on the provision of threshold in elections.

Speaking at a press conference at his ministry on Tuesday, Nayak expressed his hope that the issue will be resolve in a few days.

According to him, the government was working out to convince the agitating Madhesi parties to take part in the local level elections scheduled for May 14.

"Elections won't stop at any cost," he said, mentioning that the Election Commission has been provided with required laws on time to hold the elections.
