Rajbiraj, September 12

Police in Saptari today made public a man who was involved in abduction to make easy money.

Bindeshwor Sah of Sandha Rural Municipality, Mahottari, was paraded amidst a press conference at the District Police Office today.

According to SP Rajendra Bista, the fifty-five-year-old was arrested after an investigation launched on the basis of a complaint filed by Raj Kumar Yadav of Rajbiraj Municipality.

According to sources, Bindeshwor who casually knew Raj Kumar had asked him to go to India with him if he wanted to get loan for his daughter’s wedding.

“Raj Kumar had sent one of his relatives, Ram Charitra Yadav, with Bindeshwor, but instead of taking him to Patna for the pledged money, Bindeshwor took him to Motihari, where he took him hostage,” police sources revealed.

Bindeshwor, along with his aides, had then called Ram Charitra’s family via an Indian mobile phone number seeking 1 million rupees in ransom. They also threatened to kill Ram Charitra if the ransom amount was not provided.

As per the demand of the kidnappers, Ram Charitra’s family on April 25 had deposited Rs 960,000 in Naresh Prasad Sah’s bank account in Birgunj.
