RAUTAHAT: A child, who had gone missing for the past five days, was found dead in a pond near the village on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as five-year-old Lalan Thakur of Maulapur VDC-6 of the district.

According to the District Police Office, Rautahat, Thakur was found dead with a deep cut on his head at around 7:30 pm yesterday.

DSP Nabin Kirshna Bhandari said that the body has been sent to the District Hospital, Gaur, for postmortem.

Police said that they are looking into the case.
