CHITWAN: A youth, who went missing while swimming in a canal, was found dead in Chitwan district after two days, on Wednesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Bhim Bahadur Gurung (26) of Gaurigunj in Bharatpur Sub-Metropolitan City-8, in the district.

Gurung had gone missing since around 10:00 am on Monday when he went to swim at Devnagar, a section of Khageri Canal, according to Gitanagar Area Police Office.

To search for the missing youth, police said, the canal was dried up. However, they could not find him there.

After the canal was refilled, Gurung's  body was later found floating in the water at Radhapur, about 300 metres west of Devnagar at about 6:00 pm on Wednesday.
