Murder accused CPN-UML leader sent to prison

Janakpurdham, August 16

Dhanusha District Court today ordered local CPN-UML leader Raju Gupta to custody for investigation.

Gupta was sent to Siraha Prison as he was accused of involvement in a murder case over a dispute in the school management committee election on March 22.

As many as two persons were killed after a clash erupted at Madan Aashrit School during the school management committee election.

Ram Sewak Raut and Ram Prakash Yadav were killed in the clash the same day.

A single bench of justice judge Narayan Prasad Parajuli of the district court sent Gupta to prison to carry out the further investigation into the case.

Similarly, judge-Dipak Khanal of the district court had on Thursday ordered another accused Bhagawan Babu Sahato to custody for further investigation.

Earlier, the court had also given its verdict to send to Mahendra Yadav, Mahesh Yadav and Ram Birahi Yadav to prison just some days after the incident. But, the district court had released on bail another accused UML district secretary Laxmi Narayan Yadav. It is said that Yog Narayan Yadav, UML Janakpur zone in-charge was the main accused in the incident.
