Murder case filed against 13

DAMAULI: District Police Office Tanahun filed a murder case against 13 persons in the district on Sunday.

Police lodged the case against them for their alleged involvement in murdering Nabaraj Baram, 17, of Palungtar VDC-1, Chyangling, Gorkha on June 7.

It has been reported that the victim was pushed into the Marsyangdi River. Tek Bahadur Baram, the deceased’s father, had filed an FIR with the police yesterday saying that his son was fist thrashed and then pushed into the river.

Police have lodged the case against Sachin Bhujel, 20, Joyal Pariyar, 18, Amrit Dawadi, 18, Shambhu Bhujel, 17, Bishwo Pariyar, 14, Subash Pariyar, 15, Bishal Pariyar, 16, Giridhari Dawadi, 32, Surya Prasad Dawadi, 47, Bed Bahadur Kandel, 64, of Bhanu VDC-6 and Rishi Ram Neupane, 28, Amrit Bahadur KC, 36, and Shiva Raj Tripathi, 36 of Bhanu-7. All of them were arrested yesterday.

According to DSP Bidhyananda Majhi, they have started investigation after the case was lodged at the DPO today.  Baram was a bus helper along the Beshishahar-Dumre road section.

According to sources, the bus had killed an ox, which belonged to Rishi Ram

Neupane of Bhanu-7, Aambote on May 28, while it was en route to Dumre from Beshishahar. The bus owner paid Rs 15,000 on the spot to the owner as reparation the same day. Neupane had sought Rs 20,000.

A group of youth led by Rishi Ram Neupane forcefully stopped the bus and demanded the remaining Rs 5,000 on June 7. The bus plunged below the road when Baram tried to escape the scene by driving the vehicle himself.

Rishi Ram’s gang chased Baram after the accident. Though Baram jumped into the river to escape the gang, his kin claimed that he was pushed forcefully to death into the Marsyangdi River.

Baram’s body was recovered  from a dam on the banks of the river at Aanbukhaireni-3 on June 12.  According to police, his body was handed over to his kin after post-mortem.
