Narayangadh-Muglin road opens after repeated obstructions

CHITWAN: The Narayangadh-Muglin road that connects the Capital with the East-West Highway has been frequently obstructed since Friday evening.

The road has opened on Saturday afternoon after the authorities cleared the mass of earth and rocks obstructing the road for around nine hours.

Earlier, authorities had opened the road by late Friday night, but was obstructed again since Saturday morning.

The biggest landslide of the season had blocked the road at Char Kilo in Chandibhanjyang-5 of Chitwan district since 7 pm yesterday.

It has been learned that hundreds of vehicles have been currently awaiting their turn to pass the narrow road.

Engineer Shiva Khanal at the Narayangadh-Muglin Road Project said the road could be obstructed anytime as  a mass of earth is likely to fall anytime over the road at the same point.

The traffic jam is as long as 15 km toward both sides of the obstructed point in  Char Kilo along the vital road.
