National film awards distributed
Kathmandu: Chairman of CPN (Maoist) Prachanda today said people should engage in art and music to help build new Nepal through art.
He said this while addressing a programme organised to distribute the National Motion Picture Awards.
The award distribution ceremony also coincided with the eighth anniversary of the Film Development Board.
FDB chairman Ishwor Chandra Gyawali said artistes would have to play a significant role in building new Nepal.
Janayuddha got the Best Film Award, director Ujjwal Ghimire got the Best Director award for his movie Kismat, actress Rekha Thapa, actor Akash Adhikari, fight director Kumar and Kumar, dance director Basanta Shrestha and cameraman Bikram Thapa were among the awardees.
