NRA releases fund

HETAUDA: National Reconstruction Authority has released a fund of 370.6 million rupees to Makawanpur district for reconstruction of structures damaged by the massive earthquake of April last year.

According to the district development committee, the fund will soon be distributed to the quake-affected areas following due procedures.

As per the government plan, those who got their houses completely damaged in the quake will receive Rs 200,000 in grant to reconstruct their houses.

The grant, however, will be provided in three instalments. The devastating quake in Makawanpur had taken 47 lives, while 190 persons were injured.

A total of 21,135 houses were completely destroyed in the mega-quake, while 19,733 are said to have been partially damaged in the natural disaster.
