KATHMANDU: A man died and another sustained injuries after the motorcycle they were riding on met with an accident in Sallaghari of Bhaktapur district on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as motorcyclist Kiran Shrestha (18) of Gulmi district and injured as pillion rider Sundar Khadka (21) of Baglung district, both currently residing in Bhaktapur.

The incident occurred when the motorcycle (Ba 55 Pa 2527) en route to Sallaghari from Thimi lost control while trying to avoid hitting an animal and fell on the road at 3:30 am today, critically injuring them, according to police.

The injured were rushed to Bhaktapur Hospital where Shrestha breathed his last during the course of treatment while Khadka is undergoing treatment there, informed the police.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway.
