Panel to study Kathmandu-Nijgadh fast track construction

KATHMANDU: The government on Thursday formed a seven-member committee to study details about constructing the Kathmandu-Nijgadh fast track on its own.

A Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday formed the panel headed by National Planning Commission Vice-Chairman Min Bahadur Shrestha.

Names of other members of the committee have not been revealed.

The panel studies if a new detailed project report is needed for the construction and if members of the public are given opportunities to invest in.

Meanwhile, the government decided to provide Rs 7.5 million to the Nepal national football team for encouragement.

The government also decided to rename the Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve and promote it to the status of a national park.

Meanwhile, Robas Kusum Subedi has been appointed the General Manager of Nepal Aushadhi Limited.

The government also decided to hold talks with engineers deployed for post-earthquake reconstruction who had reportedly submitted a resignation en masse demanding more facilities.
