KATHMANDU: A man died after being hit by a truck in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29 along the Narayangadh-Mugling road section of Chitwan district on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as local Bir Bahadur Tamang (63).

According to police, Tamang was walking along the road in Jugedi when the truck (na 5 Kha 5917) en route from Narayangadh to Mugling hit him at 7:30 pm yesterday, critically injuring him.

Tamang was rushed to the Bharatpur-based College of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the same night during the course of treatment, informed police.

Meanwhile, the Area Police Office, Jugedi has impounded the truck and detained its driver for further investigation, said police.
