PM promises Constitution implementation, development

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Sunday interacted with Nepalis working in Abu Dhabi and other cities of the United Arab Emirates.

Dahal who had landed in the UAE Capital on Saturday held an interaction with Nepalis at the Nepali Embassy today.

Dahal is in the Gulf to attend the World Future Energy Summit 2017 beginning on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said, "The government under my leadership has focused Constitution implementation for national unity, infrastructure development and prosperity."

"The government has prioritised Nepalis living abroad. Experiences and capitals that you acquire here are foundations for Nepal's development. The government is conscious enough to properly utilise your hard work."

Meanwhile, the CPN Maoist Centre Chairman said the government was working to find consensus among major political forces so as to implement the Constitution.

The Prime Minister also hoped that the Energy Summit would be of paramount importance for Nepal as Nepal had been failing to properly cash in on its hydropower potential.

"We have tried to channelise the earning from foreign employment to development projects," Dahal claimed.

"We neglected development while tangling it with political disputes," he said, "But, it should not be done now. The leadership must do something for the national development."

Minister for Energy Janardan Sharma, Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, Charge d'affaires ad Interim at the Embassy Netra Bahadur Tandon and Chief to Protocol Dipak Adhikari among others were present on the occasion.
