GAIGHAT: Province 1 lawmaker Sanja Danuwar and Triyuga Municipality Deputy Mayor Devi Kumari Chaudhary were injured in a road accident in Chaudandi Municipality-7 of Udayapyur district, on Monday night.

According to police, Danuwar and Chaudhary sustained injuries after the car (Sa 1 Jha 531) they were travelling on from Biratnagar via Madan Bhandari Memorial Highway veered off the road at Bhulke, in mid-hilly region, on Monday.  Injured duo sustained injuries to their heads and hands.

The injured were rushed to Primary Health Centre, Beltar from where they were referred to Dharan -based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.

According to car driver Yogesh Chaudhary, the vehicle veered off the road while trying to save a cyclist on the road.
