Rally in support of Dr Govinda KC

Dhangadi, July 20

A rally was take out today in Dhangadi in support of Dr Govinda KC, who has been staging a fast-unto-death for the past eleven days at TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, Kathmandu.

The rally started with placards reading “Save Dr KC’s life” from LN Chowk, Dhangadi, and ended at District Administration Office Kailali.

People from different walks of life, including professors, representatives of FNCCI, party leaders, medical doctors and commoners participated in the rally.

After the rally, a memorandum was submitted to CDO Govind Rijal asking the government to meet the demands put forth by Dr KC.

Former registrar of Far-western Regional University Dr Hemraj Pant asked the government to fulfil Dr KC’s demands at the earliest.

CPN-UML central member Maheswor Pathak urged the parties and the government to meet Dr KC’s demands before entering the process of changing the government.

Dr Ganesh Bahadur Singh, former medical superintendent of Seti Zonal Hospital said that they were ever with Dr KC and his demands.

Civil Society representative Pramod Pathak said that they would keep pressing the government until Dr KC’s demands were addressed.
