Rare python found in Shuklaphanta National Park

KANCHANPUR: A rare species of python was found at Jhalari area of Shuklaphanta Municipality-10 in Kanchanpur district on Monday.

The eight-feet-long python of around two years of age was found in the cow shed of local resident Rajendra Prasad Pandey and handed over to the officials of the Shuklaphanta National Park.

The officials of the National Park have left the python in a safe habitat near Champhapur area of the National Park.

Assistant Conservation Officer of eastern region of National Park Shailendra Chaudhary said that the python molurus is enlisted as the protected species.
