Be ready for local elections: PM tells APF

POKHARA: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Thursday has directed security personnel to be ready for upcoming local elections.

Speaking at a convocation function of Armed Police Force Inspectors at the Armed Police Force Training Academy in Lampatan, Pokhara, PM Dahal directed them to be prepared for provincial and federal elections as well going to be held within a year.

Dahal made it clear that all three elections - local, provincial and federal - were going to be held for the implementation of the Constitution.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said dates for the local elections would be announced soon.

The CPN Maoist Centre Chairman further said that until the democratic federal system was established, political crisis would last.

So everybody should make efforts for successful completion of elections within this time, he argued.

Focusing on controlling crime and giving the people security, the PM also advised the the security force to move according to time.

Only after managing security system strategically, police would be able to control all the crimes in the country, Dahal added.

Speaking at the function, Deputy PM and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi appreciated the role of the APF for controlling crimes.

Saying that Constitution implementation was a responsibility of everybody, Nidhi also suggested that the security bodies should fulfill their responsibility keeping citizens' right in mind.

Total 25 APF Inspectors, who had completed a 15-month training course, had graduated at the academy today.
