Kavre, April 10
The National Reconstruction Authority has started signing agreement on grant assistance for reconstruction of houses devastated by last year’s April 25 earthquake in Raviopi VDC of Kavre from today.
Acting chief and section officer Chanchal Kumar Khadka, at NRA Sub-regional Office, Dhulikhel, said his office had signed agreement with 20 quake victims on the grant amount for reconstruction of their destroyed houses. Each victim will be handed Rs 2 lakh as per the agreement.
The team, including Khadka, reached Raviopi VDC-9 and started the programme formally after it signed an agreement on the grant assistance of Rs 2 lakh with local Min Thapa. Khadka said they had verified the documents of 35 victims, who applied for grant assistance.
The NRA team will be signing grant assistance agreements with quake victims of Raviopi VDC for around one month. Khadka said Rs 50,000 will be deposited in each quake victims’ bank account as first instalment as soon as they open a bank account.
The NRA started its work after Central Department of Statistics sent the list of quake victims of Raviopi VDC. Khadka informed that they would also begin agreement signing at other places as soon as data from other places are provided.
