LIWANG: An elderly man was killed in Lamidanda, Jaulipokhari-2 of Rolpa district on Thursday.

The 63-year-old man has been identified as Kharbir Basnet of Jaulipokhari-2.

Basnet is said to have died on the spot after Bal Bahadur Budha (39), local of the same VDC, hit him with a stone on his head, said Police Inspector Ramesh Kumar Panthi of Holleri Area Police Office.

Both the locals had attended a community forest meeting in the village. They were said to have some dispute over an issue during the meeting and Budha had left enraged.

Locals had informed police about the incident and the investigation personnel visited the crime scene.

Meanwhile, the body has been taken to the Primary Health Centre of Holleri. It would be handed to the family after all the medical procedures, he added.

Police have arrested the suspect and further investigation is underway.
