‘Ruling parties to blame for instability’

Rautahat, July 21

CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal today accused the ruling Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre of creating instability in the country.

Speaking at a press meet organised at his residence in Gaur today, the UML leader claimed that the NC and the CPN-MC had lost their relevance as they had lost public trust. He also blamed the ruling parties for the current stalemate over constitution amendment.

Leader Nepal said the NC was indifferent to development and the people and described CPN-MC as a party that lacked clear vision and agenda for the country and the people.

He claimed that his party would emerge as the largest political party in the forthcoming provincial and parliamentary polls.

Stating that UML achieved outstanding results in the first and second phases of civic polls, Nepal claimed his party would repeat the feat in the upcoming Province 2 elections as well.

He was of the opinion that some ‘feudal lords and hooligans’ had been projecting the UML as an anti-Madhesi party for their vested interests. The UML would remain unperturbed by such provocation, he added.

In another context, Nepal said the Bharatpur poll fiasco had exposed the intent of the ruling parties. The UML leader also came down heavily on Rastriya Janata Party Nepal, accusing the party of betraying Madhesi people.
