Snowfall cripples life in Bajura

Bajura, January 8

Continuous snowfall from Saturday has been taking its toll on the people of Bajura district.

Those lacking warm clothes, children and elderly persons have been affected the most in particular.

In the absence of the sun for the past few days, the days and nights have become harder for the locals as they have to face the chilling cold triggered by snowfall.

As a result, local people hardly come out of their houses to work and for other purposes, while schools in 11 VDCs have remained closed.

Transportation to the northern belt has been severely affected due to road obstruction by heaps of snow that have piled upon the road. Even the most reliable way of ferrying goods on the backs of mules in the remote area has stopped.
