Split surfaces in Nawalparasi agitation

A dispute has arisen among locals on whether to keep Nawalparasi undivided or split it as proposed in the six-province federal model.
Party leaders, cadres and locals of Parasi have been agitating demanding that Nawalpur area be kept undivided. On the contrary, people, party leaders and cadres of Nawalpur have welcomed the decision to split Nawalpur and are staging a welcome rally.
NC, UML, UCPN-M and MJF-D today staged a welcome rally in Kawasoti and submitted a memorandum to the CA and top leaders saying that the decision to merge the area east of Daunne into Province No 4 was welcome.
People of Nawalpur had been agitating for long saying that the headquarters was not conveniently placed. Nawalparasi headquarters has shut with the demand that it be kept undivided. Market places, factories, industries and businesses stayed closed.
Local RPP-N leader Rambhawan Yadav warned of an agitation if their demand was not met. Yadav said it was not befitting to divide people living for centuries in peace and harmony.
