Kathmandu, September 19

Twenty-five civil society members on Saturday issued a press statement welcoming the new constitution. They said that the new constitution has institutitionalised republican order, federalism, secularism and inclusion.

They also remembered the contribution of BP Koirala, Tanka Prasad Acharya, Pushpa Lal, Madan Bhandari, Bhadra Kali Mishra, Mahendra Naryan Nidhi, Gajendra Narayan Singh, Durganand Jha and Bhim Narayan. The group condoled the death of protesters, children and security personnel, who were killed during the protests.

The civil society members hoped that the new constitution would be a dynamic document would incorporate timely changes in future.

The civil society members include Sushil Pyakurel, Uddhav Pyakurel, Indra Adhikari, Kapil Shrestha, Kanak Mani Dixit, Shiv Gaunle, Dharmendra Jha and Dinesh Tripathi.
