Tanahun projects monitored

Damauli, June 29

The Ministry for Peace and Reconstruction has begun rigorous monitoring of various projects operated under the ministry in Tanahun district.

A monitoring team comprising representatives from local political parties and officials from the peace committee had started the inspection campaign yesterday. The team inspected projects in constituency Nos 3 and 2 on June 28 and 29.

Bimal Giri, secretary at the Peace Committee, said the team led by President Jagannath Khanal of the peace committee for constituency-1 and Nepali Congress leader Nil Bahadur Thapa of constituency-2 had thoroughly monitored the projects.

The team said they would inspect the projects of constituency-1 by tomorrow. Giri informed that as many as 92 peace for development projects and 25 projects for reconstruction and re-establishment under the ministry would be monitored.

Thapa said work at most of the projects were found satisfactory and were completed on time. The team also inspected various schools, community buildings and local development organisations in the district.
