Team to probe Tikapur incident in Dhangadi

Dhangadhi, September 2

A probe team formed by the government to investigate the violent incident that killed eight police personnel, including SSP Laxman Neupane and a toddler on August 24 arrived in Dhangadi today.

Kailali CDO Mohan Chapagin said committee Chairman Deviram Sharma, AIGP duo Jivan Thapa and Pratap Thapa, National Investigation Department’s Ganesh Adhikary and Home Ministry’s Joint Secretary Binod KC arrived in Dhangadi for the probe. The team will begin work from tomorrow.

Likewise, a parliamentarian team of Social Justice and Human Rights completed its work and returned to Kathmandu today. Team member and CA member Pyarelal Rana said that they had prepared the report.

Meanwhile, the curfew that Kailali DAO imposed in Tikapur area since August 24 continued in the area today too.

Kailali Assistant CDO Uday Bahadur Singh said the curfew was lifted from 7:00am to 10:00am for two hours in the area yesterday and today.
