BHIMDATTANAGAR: A 14-year-old girl who drowned in a canal in Shuklaphanta Municipality of Kanchanpur district died during treatment on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Sagun Dhami, daughter of Gambhir Singh Dhami of Shuklaphanta Municipality-7.

According to the Kanchanpur District Police Office, Dhami drowned while she was taking bath in Kalapani Canal at around 8:30 pm yesterday. She was taken out of the canal by her family members and rushed to Jhalari-based New Jhalari Clinic, where she breathed her last during the treatment, said police.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been handed over to the family members after postmortem in the Mahakali Zonal Hospital, said the DPO.
